Who We Are

Our Story

God and Us Community (GNUC) is a youth and young adults mission organization that was established in 2008 by Pastor Sunnam Seo (Ordained by the Presbyterian Church of Korea). GNUC was founded to thoroughly educate and train the youth and young adults according to the Word of God, both in South Korea and the U.S. Our biggest objective is to prepare our students to faithfully fulfill God’s calling in their respective communities and become the leaders of the next generation. In addition, we aim to help them serve their churches better and even play pivotal roles at churches.

GNUC will strive to be a mission organization that teaches the value of Scripture and continuously offer holistic spiritual training so one can understand how to apply the Word of God and how one can faithfully walk with God in their daily lives.

Our Verse

When we first started our organization, we received 1st Chronicles 4:10 in our prayer. The main character in the verse is a man named Jabez, who has a very special story. His name can be found in the long pedigree of the tribe of Judah, yet we can see that Jabez’s name stands out, as it is recorded that he received a special blessing from God. How could we receive such grace?

As we read carefully, we can find that Jabez earnestly cried out to the Lord. He prayed so God would enlarge his territory and be free from pain. What we see next is that God granted this request. This is the prayer of Jabez—also featured in a well-known Korean praise song.

Jabez’s prayer should be evident in lives of young adults. To become someone who strives to live a blessed life, one must pray like Jabez. GNUC hopes to help students with this prayer by praying alongside them. In addition, we would like to be their mentor, providing any necessary help. With these goals in mind, we work to spread and teach how to live a Scripture-centered life. We sincerely yearn to meet many students who dream in God and desire to become the next generation leaders.

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.' And God granted his request.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
